Being Kindred

Our goal at Kindred Co. is to provide products that are good all the way around—for you; for your animals; for the planet, so our children will continue to enjoy it as they grow older.

We may have but one thing in common; whether it's the love of horses, of animals, or of being a mother, we believe one of those alone is enough to make us a “Kindred Spirit."

Welcome to KINDRED NATION

Kindred Spirit (Noun):

A person whose interest or attitudes are similar to one’s own.

Our Story

Like many of you all, I wear a variety of hats: wife, mother, business owner, horse lover. Which one comes first? I wouldn't be able to tell you.

I grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and started riding at 8 years old. The horses I was lucky enough to love (and be loved by) growing up drove a deep love for Thoroughbreds into my heart. I was given the opportunity to manage a 60-stall horse farm at the beginning of 2018, and soon after, the dream expanded and that farm became an adoption facility for New Vocations, the oldest and largest racehorse adoption program in the country.

CATHY LONG

Owner

Early 2019, I found out I was pregnant. And before then, I was a wife, horse and dog mom. I wasn't sure I wanted to have kids until about 36 hours after my daughter was born. Once my mama bear instincts kicked in, I've never looked back! While managing the large horse farm and horses coming in and out of the adoption program, I always wanted a good fly spray — which kept me coming back to the same pink bottle and simple formula I was introduced to by my farrier the year prior. The opportunity was given to me (and to us as a family) to run this small business and all came to fruition for our little one, my kindred spirit and my built-in best friend. This company reflects who I am — the dreamer, the horse lover, the gut follower, the believer in signs — but also my love for being a mother.

Your story is surely different than mine and we may have but one thing in common; whether it's the love of horses, of animals, or of being a mother, I believe one of those alone is enough to make us a “Kindred Spirit”. I am happy you're here — welcome to KINDRED NATION.
